Agricultural Education | Activities

December 24, 2019 by Taylor McCarthy

Our Agricultural Education Program creates a space of healing and understanding, where everyone is valued and invited to participate and contribute.

When students come to Madison Fields, teachers and chaperones often say they see a shift in demeanor. The open space, therapeutic animals, and welcoming staff will surely have that effect; we take pride in this. Our Agricultural Education Program creates a space of healing and understanding, where everyone is valued and invited to participate and contribute.

We engage our visiting students through fun, educational activities. Depending on the season, the weather, and the interests and abilities of students, they embark on gentle woodland hikes, meet our goats & chickens, interact with our therapy horses, fish at the pond, take a hay ride around the farm, paint pumpkins, enjoy a picnic, and a number of other activities.

Activities are modified in order to suit the age group and preferences of participating students.

Students who come to Madison Fields often find new ways to express themselves and discover new interests through these activities. Students also learn about the importance of teamwork, inclusion, and cooperation. Participating in Agricultural Education at Madison Fields is truly a memorable experience for participants and staff alike!
